Jacked up

The last time I jacked the car up by the rear axle beam it either cracked,
or more likely brought out an existing crack to the surface in my fuel tank
from the pressure put on the tank. I don't jack up from the axel beam
anymore.

Luckily the dealer did the recall and I dropped off the car with a terrible
fuel leak at the dealership on the evening of September 11, 2001. Walking 20
minutes home from the dealership smelling like gas on completely deserted
streets was a scary feeling.

i do the same, and i've never had a problem either. the beam does bow
slightly, but always returns to normal. should work fine for everyone else,
since im lifting more weight than normal when i do this on the rieger (~100#
worth of rear wheel+rubber).
