Brake Q...



As far as I understand it the early 84's (large spare tire well) should have 
solid rotors and the later 84's should have vented rotors.
As pointed out the caliper is the same either way and the pad is just 
thinner for the vented rotors. I'd try asking for pads for an 86 8V unless 
you're talking to someone that is actually knowledgable about VW's (part4vws 
or germanautoparts among others)
I'd go vented. I like the ATE Power Disc, barely more expensive than a stock 
rotor.
