all 8v oil filters the same?



I must disagree with my learned colleague.  I don't know why they changed
it, or what the actual differences are, but they changed the filter after
'94 (I just looked it up to be sure).  '95 and later should use the
06A-115-561-B filter, while earlier should use the JH filter.  This change I
believe coincides with the change from oil squirted engines, earlier
versions having them and later not having them...

To my knowledge all VW 4 cylinder engines (except maybe the stinky diesel!)
use the same filter.
At least I've always used the same filter on JH, PL, 9A, ABA and 1.8T.
