2.5" will go easily.  If the builder is good with bends or bender he can 
ever so slightly squeeze 3" through.  With a few loving passes to the floor 
with a hammer.

I'm going to get a quote tomorrow on a exhaust for my scirocco 16v
turbo.  wanted to know what size exhaust can fit over the rear axle
beam?  think about a 2.5 or 3in exhaust.
