The car isn't the question, the route is.  :)

Rig your route so that it's about 20 miles long.  That way your oil can get
up to temp and not give you problems with moisture and sludge.

Either that or take the car for a good, hard, long drive...about 50
miles....every weekend.  Just make sure your oil temps hit AT LEAST 110
degrees C during that drive.

This should start another nice argument....

I agree with Larry, getting the thing up to temp will help boil off the
acids that build up in the condensation in the oil...  This is where the
biggest amount of wear comes from in short trips...
