Fuel economy and improving it, among other things.



You want to run the lowest octane your car is happy with, (that doesn't
cause knocking). On KS cars, the KS will pull timing if it hears a ping, so
the higher compression cars will want a higher octane. I try to find 94 for
the headache, and Klaus (10:1) gets 91 and up. (Right now he's getting to
sit out for a while longer...) At least that's my understanding of it. And
when I said 47, that's on an imperial gallon, so about 36. The 16V's always
had great highway mileage, we weren't travelling too fast, and it has a .80
fifth. She did worse on the way down to Ohio, the mix was too rich.
