RE: Stake your axle nuts!

Hay, I am new here but I agree with Larry the only time I have had an axle
nut come lose on my 88 Scirocco 16v is when the bearing was going out or on
the track when the hub broke.  Since I do abuse my VW I remove the axles
often for inspection and have always reused the nut and washer though I do
check them about every 6 hours of track time.

the only time this has happened to me was when the bearings were in the
process of going south.
