I used some Lucas Stop LeakR and it does put a dent in any leak....fluid
doesn't just disappear.

And a new rack can be purchased from www.parts4vws.com

The power steering pump on my 16v is starting to make some noise like it's
low on fluid.  Since I've basically done nothing with this unit sine I've
had to car, I think a flush and change of fluid is in order.  Any
suggestions on a flush agent and/or fluid?  TIA.
