Progress update!

Koabi, did you choose JE pistons to attain specific compression ratio?
I had heard that stock ABA pistons will work (no interference) with a
16v head however; I don't know if that is with stock cams only.
Thanks, Rick.

Yes Cathy, the AC was eliminated because the engine's cooling is more
important than my own :) It's Ko-ah-bee, for the record. Thanks for
the
offer though, Don.

Details:

ABA OBDI 2.0 bottom end, 1.8 16v head, with STILL unknown cams. Ford
Tbird
T3 .60/.48. G60 engine management for the time being. The pistons are
83mm
(IIRC) 9:1 "ABF" JE forged pistons. Rods and crank is stock ABA obd1
stuff... I hope to eventually see in the ballpark of 250hp to the
wheels
(at 1 bar) but I really have no idea. Whatever it ends up being, it
should
be fun. One side note is I did put ~5 miles on this car without an
intercooler. It had a sizeable boost leak and I had no valve on the
line to
the wastegate actuator - the car was actually fairly slow like that. So
hopefully after this plus corrected issues the car will put down good
power.

David, you could probably do this without killing the AC if you reroute
the
AC lines to around the strut tower (between the tower and the pass
fender)
and if you do water intercooling. I seriously considering doing
something
like this, but the "easy" way out won.

Don, somehow I'm thinking that the photo from the front clearly shows
why
it had to die. As in, he "put it down" for "other" cooling needs.... Am
I
right on that Koabi? (And how do you pronounce your name?) cathy
