The Japanese economy, while once strong and mighty,
got blasted along with the other Asian nations some
years ago, and never recovered to its formre glory. 
However, the image of the almighty Japanese economy
does not wither from American minds very easily.  It
is a perception issue, I think.

I could have that very wrong, however.
