Shift light shenanigans

Oil light flashing in a 16V means Coolant level is low. It isconnected to a 
sensor on top of the overflow tank.
 I've had my upshift light flash once or twice randomly as well. Normally it 
doesn't work. Not sure why but it doesn't in either of my sciroccos.
