any TDI owners out there?

And you didn't even BOTHER to bid on the Corrado TDI? Sheesh...

Well, you have choosen the best, most reliable of the bunch (A3 Jetta and
B4 Passats). They are the simplest, and the most reliable. To get a
wagon, you will have to get a Passat...good luck, they go for insane money
if found in nice condition.

How do I like it? Love it.

Reliability: Great, minor things here and there ($30 glow plug bus), other
than that, its nothing to do with the motor having any problem. Timing
belts must be religiously done, just like a 16v (these are interferance
engines). Fuel filters are a regular item, a little on the costly side
(every 20k miles or so) and oil changes are pricer (use good oil, and the
filter is expensive as its HUGE).

Will you make up the cost difference in fuel savings? Probably...but it
all depends I guess.

These cars WILL clog the intake eventually, thats an expensive job to
clean (EGR on diesel is retarded in my opinion). There are simple things
that can be done to prevent the clogging from happening...tuning the EGR
down using VAGCOM and adding a crank case vent oil catcher of some sort,
to prevent the oil fumes from getting up there. (See, soot from
recirculated diesel exhaust mixed with oil vapor = gooey nasty mess).
Others have reported running B20 (20% biodiesel, 80% dino diesel) cleans
the intake right up...I've yet to try it on the rado...but I am going to
(several gas stations in the area are now have B20 at the pump).

Starting: no worries mate, this aint your fathers diesel...fire right up
in even the coldest conditions Colorado sees (-20 F is usually the worst
the Denver area will see in a winter, normally around 20-30 degrees in the
morning).
