9mm 12 point socket

Well, if you don't need the flywheel off of the 1.8 the fugg it.
Always try www.parts4vws.com or www.germanautoparts.com before messing 
around with the dealer.

As far as the alignment I wouldn't put any crap (double sided tape) on the 
clutch disc. It'll only burn off if you're abusing your clutch. It normally 
doesn't get all that hot.
You can generally assemble the flywheel to the pressure plate just tight 
enough to hold the clutch disc in position. Then center it visually or 
measuring with a ruler and gently pry it into position. Then tighten it 
down. It isn't super precision. The tool only gets it within 1/32" or so.
