Wire you here?



Yah.  Too inflexible.  And even if it didn't rub through you would 
possibly get metal fatigue breaking the wire inside of the sheath from 
it moving around.  Auto wire is very flexible and stands up well to it.

Solid core would be dangerous to use in a car.  It is inflexible, and 
would
therefore rub through the sheath and likely short or cause a fire...
