too dry. there is a chilled water circuit that runs through to various
spot coolers throughout the sub. each one ends up stripping moisture from
the air. moisture content is near 0%. you'd be surprised the effect that has
on people. simple cuts and nicks that usually only last a few days will end
up remaining for months on end, not healing until we return to port.
the little bit of moisture we did have was the particulate from the guys
sneezes, which then carried throughout the rest of the whole crew. i've
still got remnants of the last ripple - i finally got enough rest to start
shaking it last night (midnight to 7 pm in bed, WOOT). luckily this one is
not as bad as the first one - when we first went underway someone brought a
nasty 24 hour stomach virus with them. it made it through nearly the entire
crew over the course of a week. a few times there we nearly didnt have
enough well people to man all of the watches.

> - How are the new screen doors you guys outfitted the rig with?

well, it _would_ help with the moisture issue, a bit too much though :)

> - Do you guys still use raisins in your Grog?

nope, and if only we had some grog, or at least something with anything
close to the alcohol content of it. freggin ausies get to drink underway,
why cant we?!?!!?

> But really though, Thank you for your service.

    you're quite welcome.
