Quarter mile times

1981 Scirocco-S no bumpers, lowered
15" 205/40 falcon azenis ~18psi
1985 JH engine, cleaned up but stock, no power seering no ac
K&N
large t-body and port matched manifold
large air flow plate
3" intake pipe to airbox

..so basically just a plain old clean minimal 8v with intake mods.
I make a lot of runs, they were all the same.

ran consistent 16.6 at 81mph
60' 2.4
330 6.8
1/8 10.6@64.5

so as you can see I just ran out of high end. with a cam/header/exhaust
other than stock the story would have ended up different
Those JHs aren't racehorses, but can be easily made into fun little
peppy engines for really cheap. I actually beat a new celica, baseline
model I assume.
