Carbon Fiber Hoods

painting is not that difficult, especially if you've
ever painted before, i had lots of experience with
models, so it was just a matter of scaling up.. a lot!
removing the hood makes it easier, obviously. just
either remove all the old paint with a stripper or
sand it down, then use progressively higher grit
abrasive paper to make a mirror smooth finish on your
primer. if you can feel an imperfection, you'll see
it in the finished coat.
i just got done painting my '79 beauty, and i learned
a lot. for a while i was driving around with no hood,
no hatch, and no doors. it was kinda loud, but the
ventilation was great!! and except for my left leg
being quite a bit more tanned than my right one.. it
was a lot of fun!!
