engine swap to a 1.6L




You can swap the motor long block (block and head as a unit) into the 
existing transaxle, fuel, ignition setup, have the fuel to air ratio 
dialed in and away you go.

Certain combinations will have a few gotchas like the 90/100 mm thing 
you mentioned but I don't see a reason to swap the old transaxle into 
the new car.

Keep the fuel/spark systems, the motor wont mind.
