Rear wing functionality

i've seen some windtunnel data by Kamei, regarding the
lift reducing capabilities of their deck spoiler for
the 80s 5-series BMW.  the spoiler works very well on
other sedans, i used it on my 82 Escort.  and there
was a difference, even my father noticed it, he had
laughed at me when i bought it.  the effect is small
until higher speeds are reached, the effect increases
exponentially, similar to the increase of parasitic
drag.  the % of C-sub L (coefficient of lift) can
reach > 100, so the spoiler actually forces the rear
of the car downwards, this did happen at a very high
speed, but even at 60 to 80 mph, a well designed
spoiler will do a lot to increase road adhesion.
