Solved? Re: UPDATE Re: RE: starts and stalls

The kewpie doll appears to go to Eric/John. I pulled the transfer pump
put of the tank and, after replacing the short piece of hose that had
all but rotted away that it's connected to I plugged it in outside the
tank. Tested voltage at the external connector (10VDC), turned the key
on and tested at the pump connector while trying to start (again,
10VDC) but it doesn't hum or anything. Looks dead. Funny thing was,
when I tried to start it with the transfer pump out of the tank the car
did EXACTLY what it has been doing all along...start, then immediately
die. I took the pump to my local VW dealership to see if they had it
or at least to get a part number and was informed VW doesn't supply
that part anymore and they couldn't give me a part number....lame. So
I called V-dub folks and they had it. Apparently they are awesome for
parts if nothing else. I'll pick up the pump tomorrow and keep y'all
informed if your interested.

Thanks a bunch for the help everybody. I wouldn't even know the
transfer pump existed w/o your help.
