UPDATE Re: RE: starts and stalls

Per David's suggestion I jumpered what turned out to be relay terminals
#2 and #3 (the two largest exactly as he described, btw) and low and
behold the fuel pump runs fine even w/o the ignition on. Tried to
start the car w/the jumper in place with no change. It eventually
starts then immediately stalls. At least it seems I've eliminated one
potenial canidate but that was by far the easiest one to fix so I'm
back to square one. I love fixing stuff but hate troubleshooting :-\

Since it starts and runs for a while on starting fluid I don't think
it's an electrical/distributor issue. Besides the cap, rotor, wires
and plugs are all brand spanking new.

The closest thing to a transfer pump I found was what is supposed to be
the fuel tank level sending unit underneath the rear passenger seat. I
didn't actually remove it to verify but that's what Haynes says it
is(which really doesn't count for much since the books is so horribly
wrong at times). Assuming that is the transfer pump, what procedure can
I use to verify it's working?

Thanks again, fellas!
