8v valve adjustment question

Also, if it's on the bench make sure it's not sitting on the head-to-block surface while you turn
the cam.
That would bump the valve heads on the bench and bend them just enough so they don't seal.

That is how I used to do it.

Just remember that hot and cold clearances are different.
