OBD Crap



Ran across something like this on my nephew's 97 Passat.
One thing wrong that gave a whole bunch of different error codes.
In his case it was a bad fuel pump relay. But there were a million little things powered through
that relay and they all generated an error code.
In the end, for me at least, the only way to narrow it down was to sit and stare at the schematics
until I saw the common point.
Probably not much help.
>From what you've said I'd concentrate on the engine speed signal. If that isn't working, the engine
sure as hell isn't going to run.
