Blinking Light!!!!

David,

It's a 16v which means it has the stupid collent level sensor in the
expansion tank. Pull the plug that connects to the sensor and you will
prollie find a bit of coolent or evidence of moisure in it. What happens is
that the sensor prongs that go down into the water have a plastic coating on
them, the heat breaks it down and pressure feeds water up the sensor prongs
and right into the connector. Once that happens, it closes/opens the
circuit and you get a blinking light in the dash. Took a few times of this
happening to me to figure it out. I replaced the sensor with a new one and
that put and end to things. However, I've spoken with a few other 16v
owners and found that they have had to replace those sensors every ear or so
due to the same issue. I'm going on 3 years with mine, but keep waiting for
the blinking light from hell to come back.

Give it a shot, I think it's a $15-20 fix and it beats the hell outa of
screwing with the damn 16v coolent hoses and then having to burp the fucker.
I swear, the next time I have to deal with the coolent system, I'm hacking
together a pressure release valve somewhere.

William
