Correct.  The '80 "S" was in Mars Red, Black, and Alpine
white, while the '81 "S" was only in Mars Red, Cosmos
Silver and Cirrus Grey.

The Strobe Stripe fabric is two tone red on the black and
white '80 S, and black with grey stripes on the mars red
'80 S.  I have samples of both laying around here.

The 5 spd was an option on the Scirocc, at least through
1980.  ALL S Sciroccos were 5 speeds, but some non-S cars
were not.  I've owned one.  :)

No.  It is a trim package only.

It's supposed to be blacked out on the S.  However, so is
the trim around the windshield / windows, but it fades off
to reveal the natural chrome underneath, especially after
24 years.  Red velour seats would be correct - the way to
tell is the fabric pattern and if they're highly bolstered
or not.  (Similar to a 16v Scirocco)

Zender airdam, Recaro seating, black dash, and red emblems
are the major things.  Oh, and the aforementioned black
trim.
