Is it an 'S' or not?

Per the link you provided for the seat fabric, the Red cloth was not offered
with Alpine White paint.???

For what it's worth, My Alpine White 80 S has no "S" trim or parts on it
anymore. I do have a black S gauge cluster that I will install someday. At
the time I preferred the wood grain. I'm also considering adding the red
stripe back on the bumpers.

Do you have any pics of the car?

I don't remember looking at dash trim but it had the same red cloth as 
Jason's rear seat, if you remember that...  You are right that white 'S' 
cars were only produced in 1980... no '81

The fabric is red cloth and not the Red/Black Strobe Stripe...

It looks like the 5 speed was an option for cars that had 4 speeds... 
interesting.
