You did remember the ground cable from chassis to the tranny driver side
ground cable that is bolted there right (ask me one day what happens when
you forget and unto the bolts ...heheh)

First, the motor is junk, otherwise I wouldn't even consider taking off the
pan. Since it's going to be disposed of, I figured removing the pan would
give me a bit more clearance to pull the motor out.
