     ok here are some things to check
1. battery
2. alternator
3. battery contact with cables
4. fuse panel
 
    these are areas to look at. keep in mind if the battery is dying the car 
will not run. when it shut off on you it is because the ignition drained the 
available juice out of it. just because the cables are tight on the battery 
doesnt mean there is good contact. there could be a blown fuse that has something 
to do with the charging system. take the alternator to a good shop to have it 
tested it could be that too.
