Missing my Rocco

I can relate with that, Rhett... My first GTI ('84, bought in '90), I drove
the living shit out of that thing... I learned how to scale walls (tall
curbs), how well the car holds up to rear-ending someone at approx. 25 mile an
hour difference, how flexible the car is when you drive it over the wrong bay
at the muffler shop (teetering by two wheels before almost falling in),
etc... I never wanted to sell it. Then I finally saw that a close friend who
had a twin to mine, with more miles, and much fewer dents, dings, nics,
fromerly straight items, rust, etc, wanted to sell me his, well crud... That
car is gone. Everything can be fixed, but for how much? Hey, if you keep
your eyes open you never know what you will find... I just bought an '82
pickup with a 2.0 16V that was not finished, and a ton of other parts for a
measley 400.00. It will soon be my daily driver while I sort out the G60...

But I digress... I was just going to offer that, yeah, it prolly could have
been fixed. Ultimately, it is only a matter of time/money...

  David Utley
