2.0l block

Dave, I was comparing unmodified 2.0/1.8 heads. I was basing my HP
estimate gains from the ones stated in Greg Raven's Book, "you can gain
somewhere between 10 to 15 HP by swapping your 2.0l head for a 1.8l
head...".
I never throw anything away unless it is completely trashed so
all the heads are still around. Unfortunately they are all on the back
burner since my 8v motor is apart in the basement.

The 1.8L head by itself does not add an extra 10hp. Hope you didn't
invest
a bunch of money in that old head and throw your 2.0L head away that
actually had more potential.

A short block is the lower section only with out the head. I paid $650
US
for a rebuilt block and spent almost $550 on the head to prep the
engine. Do
I think it was worth the trouble? Well, I no longer hold the title for
the
"Rocc with the least HP". :)

A new 9A block is about 135 hp + 10 hp for the 1.8 head. Sooo about 145
HP
instead of 50? Scotch guard is wonderful!

The 9A block will fit in a MKI for sure.
IIRC the ABA (8V) is a bit taller (physically) if that is what you mean.
