Gmail the easy way

ok, check this out. hotmail, yahoo, and basically any other 'free' email
service would be *just* as 'insecure' as gmail, if not more. this is because
they work pretty much the same way. now if you want to get really worried,
consider that your email passes through several relays, any of which can be
archiving said email for who-knows-what purpose. the only real difference
between gmail or your own isp mail is which servers the email happens to
pass through on the way.

now, a side note, you can get a program which does a roundabout method of
retrieving emial from a gmail account. the program is called
pop-goes-the-gmail. it does the necessary conversion so you can setup your
'usual' email reader to retrieve your gmail email. the cool thing about
this: you can have it delete the emails from gmail after retrieval. no more
worries about security risk of your emails sitting on googles servers
forever, as they are deleted every time you check your mail (just like what
happens when you get your 'usual' mail from your isp).
