Motronic-- Why do I need the Fuel Injector Adapters?

Alright.  Next silly question, why can't I use the CIS-E injectors?  They are in the head now, so they must fit (right?).  Is the fuel pressure different between the two systems?  I looked in ETKA, and the injectors are the same, CIS-E to Motronic, so I am still a bit lost...
