Can you take it apart and get a bit more room that way?  I realize that the
outer part of the connector will really be stressed by squishing it, but
hopefully it will come back to shape.  Also, if you can not make the one big
connector go through the hole, what about going the other way and feeding
all the rest of the wiring through it?

Just a couple of thoughts...
