New ETKA and the nasty Hardlock error

 between me and the poeple here at work we've gotten it to work on 95, 98se, 2k (which is what we run here), and xp. as for it not working off the bat, i though i copied the hacked lexhdl5.dll file to the two folders it occurs on the disc. apparently not. you shouldn't have to run any executables. you will probably want to remove your old copy of etka unless you are installing the new version on another drive. also, you don't want to click the 'vw'- or 'audi'-only buttons (some limitation with the hack). you should click on the 'vw/audi' button which is default when the program is installed. some people might not see the "-only" buttons (don't know why. might be with the acutal hardlock itself). other than that, i'm not sure. i installed and ran it at home with no problems first time out. same thing at work with win2k. so, in short, if etka doesn't want to work for you straight away:

1) use the 'vw/audi' button instead of the 'vw' or 'audi' only buttons

2) copy the lexhdl5.dll from the 'nt' sub-directory (as indicated in another post) and overwrite the one in the epc_prog directory. if necessary, i can post the .dll and let it fly.

3) you might also not want to let the etka know you're connected to the internet. it will occasionally try to connect to the server to download a newer version. THIS IS NOT GOOD. reason being that the first thing the updates replace is the lexhdl5.dll. note: this does NOT happen on all versions and/or all installs of the ETKA. feel free to set the date, however.
