autobahn going the way of the dinosaur? attn: Dirk

It's definitely illegal in Germany to flash your lights as you come
upon slower moving traffic. No doubt about it. *BUT* it's a custom and
happens regularly.

There is no telling if this was a 2 lane (most common) or larger
section of autobahn. If it was a 2 lane section, there are times when
a Kia can be in the left lane. For instance, all trucks are governed
at 90 KM/Hr (56 MPH) even a Kia can easily pass these, especially if
there is a long line of them. Oh, and don't forget that trucks pass
each other, the Kia woman could have been stuck behind a truck with
nowhere to go.

It sounds like our courts did the ruling on that one...

As I understand it, it is the responsibility of the slower car to
move over
in time and without causing the speeding driver to slow down... With
this in
mind, I do not see how it could be the 'agressive' drivers fault for
causing
the woman to wreck unless he actually touched her car... Who knows if
he
actually saw the wreck or not, but I think it is law that if you see a
wreck,
you stop and help, period.
But to go back to the point, I have heard it put this way, "Germans
drive
in their mirrors,"... Also, allegedly they are trying to ask folks
not to
flash their lights anymore, there are signs up asking to not flash...

Dirk, how far off am I on any of this?
