water, water, everywhere...

The reason why it drips through the center of the hatch is because you need
to invert your gasket (had this issue and this solved it)
Remove the hatch seal, and start the seal break at the license plate instead
of the top of the hatch.. Bet ya it never it never drips in again!

I used to have the same problem, until I started parking in the garage at my
new domicle. ;)

At any rate, I was parking in front of my old house facing downhill with the
driver's side to the curb (illegal in most areas, but we lived on a dead end
that was at the top of the hill). I noticed at times after heavy rains that
my drivre's side was getting soaked and even puddled a bit at times. I
tracked it down to the rear hatch. It was leaking in from the top middle
into the trunk and from there running under the rear seat (or through it :)
to the floor and then the front. Fun fun. I think it was also coming
through the holes in the trunk lid where the badges are. I had some come
off back then.

I haven't fixed the seals, but I have replaced the grommits for the badges
and they are all plugged now. As mentioned earlier, I also park in a garage
now. It sitll drips from the top middle of the rear hatch, but not enough
that I'm buggin' about it. And I try to avoid leaving it out when it's
pouring anyway.

ugh. so after fixing my pass side door, and thinking that was my leak, i
come to my car after a couple days of rain and find the DRIVER'S side floor
soaked, front and back. pass side bone dry. the door/sunroof drains i don't
think are the issue here. i've thought about a windshield leak, but a) it
was a LOT of water b) i would think pass side would get some water too c)
felt up around under the dash, didn't feel anything wet up there, and d) i'm
not ready to tear out my dash looking for leaks yet. any other sources of
leaks? i looked under the plastic shield under the hood, and there was a bit
of water in the tray; the drains were clear, but there was still about
1/8-1/4" standing water in there. didn't know if this was normal. could this
be a source of leaks? the air intake/fan shroud both look like they would be
susceptable. any thoughts?
