Wagner Brite Lights?
I know nothing about them, but the first thing that came to mind when reading your post was 'Sylvania Silver Stars'.
Could they be quite similar?

You can find him on www.vintagewatercooleds.com where it's a little less busy. Also, his products have gotten rave reviews, so I wouldn't worry about buying stuff from him. One downside is he often does preorders.

  Beyond that, I have had experience with Wagners' Brite Light. It is a higher 
  wattage Halogen, and I have had very good results, although I definately would 
  not mind other options, esp. if they were as cheap as the Wagners... ;-)
