Block or Block/Transaxle Removal

Is it basically the same amount of work to removal the block and leave
the transaxle or just remove the block/transaxle as one unit?  I really
only need to work on the block, the transaxle and clutch are relativity
new.  If it is six of one; half dozen of another I will just stick to
the process I am familiar with.  It would be nice not to have to mess
with the linkage and transaxle mounts..
