wow, you have a '56 172??  that's a straight tail one
without a rear window, right?? and a continental
engine??  140 hp maybe??  the oldest i flew was a 63
or 64 with a 6 cyl cont. in it, smooth, but lacked the
power i was used to with the lyc 360s at 160 or 180
HP.
