MK3 tranny 020 are they stronger??

I keep seeing people that have a 1.8T swap or a turbo car using the MK3 
trannies. Is this because they are stronger or just easier to come by?

No, it's the gearing, the A3 020's are overdrive trannies with wide gears,
and perfect for forced induction.

The A3 020 is basically the same as a 16V 020 trans, except for the gearing.
