help wiring KE-jet in '79

I guess I'll repeat it.
I had a similar situation with my 83 jetta when I wired up a 92 2.0L 16V
into it...if you still have the factory fuse panel and fuel pump relay and
if your car had a tach then chances are you have a red and black stripe
wire that went from the coil to the FPR...this is what gives the signal
for the relay (and pump) to either keep running while the engine is
running or shut off while the engine is off.
In my jetta I retained this wire to allow me to retain my original fpr
wiring and my original gauge cluster (it gives the tach its rpm signal)
As a result the factory 92 Motronic FPR wire which the ECU would send the
signal to either run or shut off the fuel pump is not needed and not
hooked up.
So as long as said original wire is there to the coil and and fpr it
should take care of the fuel pump.  Next thing to check is the relay it
self, via the trusty fused jumper wire.
