Rear brake pad install.

Guys, how do you get the rear caliper to snap into place with the pads in the carrier?  I can't get the metal ears to snap into place like the previous ones did... it almost looks like these sit *outside* the top of the caliper as opposed to my previous pads.  Here's a pic of what the new pads look like.  Any ideas how the ears snap into place?
