Scrap that (was: Boring a 1.7)

Bryan, My favorite parts place is WWW.germanautoparts.com
Instead of trying to figure out all the parts you will need, you can
request a quote and they will supply a list and pricing.

I am in a close FedEx zone/region to them and I receive my order the
following day I place it. I am satisfied with the quality of the parts
and the help/service I receive on the phone.

Next, onto a JH motor, I would suggest shopping around a bit especially
if you car is running now. IMHO, I believe that you could find a motor
with fewer miles for $200. Check the 'Bargain News' type papers or on
line sale services in you area. Also, any local VW clubs in your area.

Finally, where are you located? I know of plenty of JH motors in my
area (yard).

Rick Kellner.

Yeah, I asked myself why too, and now that I've seen the cost of
pistons. I
know of a JH with 260 000 kms on it, for $200. It'll be about $150 to
ship
it.

I wanna rebuild it, anyone know of a place where i could buy a kit with
all
the goodies i'd need to rebuild it?

Thanks

Bryan
