measuring cam lobes/intake ports

I wouldn't lay real money on it, Ron.
Too many variations in cams.
You may not get the true base circle that way.
Then, again, you might...
Who knows?

  Measure heel to tip of lobe, then across heel (base circle).  Subtract that from the heel-to-tip
  and that's your lift.
