[mk2] passenger side tray on cars with a/c?

So I know that only non-a/c mk2's got the passenger side under-dash tray
because of clearance issues with the center console, but I think I
remember reading about someone who had hacksawed the tray a bit and made
it fit in a car with a/c?

Does anyone have pics or info on what has to be done to make it work?
