Being that I have both engines in my cars, I like em' both.  I like the
16v for it's stock power and decent high end and I like the 8v for it's
down low power which can be very fun in the twisties.  Not to mention,
but the 8v's are just better setup for modding the piss outta them. 
There is actually room to put things like turbo's and whatnot without
creating a really tight area that will build up a ton of heat.  Don't
get me wrong, there is still a space issue, but no where near as much as
on the 16v.

To put it mildly, they both have their good/bad points, it all boils
down to personal preference.  I for one enjoy them both and don't look
down my nose at anything.  I only look at honda's in my rearview. :)
