snow chains/cables

The zip ties are a smart idea. Also bring some cheap leather 
workgloves.  I made a mess out of a $70 pair of gore-tex ski gloves
once.  The same chains have worked fine for me with 195/50/R15, original
suspension.  Made many a trip up and down Steven's Pass with them,
in moderate snow and ice.  Just keep your speed under the chains limit. 

If anything more than light snow is forcast, I take my 3/4 ton 4X4
Suburban, which has traditional diamond tread chains for all 4
wheels.  ar Ar AR.
