Should plug gap increase with performance?

Plug gap should increase based on your spark power. You could probably get
away with a little wider gap but I wouldn't got crazy unless you installed
some sort of spark enhancer. My father-in-law put a Jacobs ignition on his
car for better mileage and he increased his gap to 65 or 70 thousandths but
this is on a V8 and his gap started at about 40 or so. HTH!

Just wondering if you should ever stray from the spec factory spark plug
gap when you start upping the horsepower over stock? Does more power
require a hotter/bigger spark? What about the relationship between
higher output coils and spark plug gap?

Thanks!

Mark.
