1.8 JH swap....bit more power...still sucks

Yikes... My main seal leaks and I'm sure it's whats making my clutch feel a
sloppy joe. It still always will grab but there's no hope of any tire
spin. It's been feeling like crud for 3 years - but still never really
slips.

Even though I don't even want this motor and won't be fixing the clutch -
there's no way I'm pouring cokacola into any part of my motor/drivetrain!

There was a thread on vortex not too long ago in the tranny forum about a
guy that accidentally added gear oil to the timing check hole to top off the
tranny, and had major clutch slippage, obviously. A bunch of people
recommended adding degreaser, which wouldn't hurt in any case. This is what
he ended up doing:

He added a mixture of coca cola (2 liters) and baking soda (half a bottle)
to the same timing check hole, with the engine running, and while someone
was pushing the clutch pedal in and out. I guess what happens is the baking
soda breaks down the oil, then the coke, as it heats up and carmelizes,
makes the surfaces very sticky. I cannot vouch for this first hand, and as
I understand, it's best done on a clutch that's about to go anyway. Kind of
buys you time. Oh, and he said to do it in the street because it makes a
big mess...

He was very serious about it, and swears it does wonders for a shot clutch.

I just found the thread:
