First Autocross!!! Longish

Holy S%&# what a great time.

I finally made it to my first Solo II event.......wow so much fun.....I must
admit that as much as I work on my car I never have really driven it to its
potential...I have always been too scared to hurt my car (not so much the
engine but wrapping it around a tree).....but man what fun. As soon as I
got half way through my first lap the fear was gone.....and it was on and I
forgot about the car!!!

There were 50 cars and 63 drivers so we all got 4 runs. We probably would
have had more but a BMW lost a gas line and poured it all over the track and
then a VR6 Passat spit coolant all over the track as soon as the first mess
was cleaned up.....so the first group took forever!!! Someone had to point
out that only the German cars were having issues!!

Well, as for me, I got first place in DS.....I was the only one in DS but
that is not important is it?

But, I will say that I was very pleased with my times in my four runs I went
from 79.7 to 77.9 to 76.5 to 75.5 with the fastest time of the day being
66.8 in a S2000. I think the coolest thing I saw out there was a Plymouth
Reliant, that takes guts.....I think he was proving a point that its not the
car that matters.....but yes I beat his times...and then there were the two
19-20 year olds in the Supra and RX-7...yes the really expensive
ones.....very nice cars...at least they were driving them...it was fun to
watch them try to control that HP

I was by no means the smoothest one out there...I was having too much fun
squealing the tires and spinning the tires into second gear but I definitely
improved...if I had more runs I would have attempted to drive the course
smooth....maybe next time!!

I did have one real question.

What class should I be in...I am pretty sure I should be in DSS...or what
about STS ..I do not want to be in DSP I will never have a chance against
this guy in a Quaifed' Neon not that winning really matters at this point.

I guess my problem will be that my Battery is in the trunk...other than that
I have the standard Bilstein H+R Potterman Special.
